Storage recommendation:

Dry product may be stored at room temperature, in refrigerator, or in freezer at least until the use by date on the package. If stored in cold, bring up to room temperature before using.

Prepared product should be consumed within 1 week of preparation. Prepared product can be frozen and should be consumed within three months.

How can I be sure it is Gluten Free?   

Celiac Support Association certifies it to be 5 ppm. It is produced in a gluten free environment on a dedicated line.  Batches are tested using Elisa Gluten Assay test.



Is it considered whole grain? 

No, the blend is not 51% whole grain ingredients.



How can this have a Kosher certification of OU Parve: 

We use non-dairy chocolate chips that are certified OU Parve. All of our competitors use chocolate chips with dairy in them so they are certified OUD.



Is cocoa butter a dairy ingredient? 

While many in the dairy-free and vegan communities see the word butter and assume that cocoa butter contains milk, this is not the case. Cocoa butter, the fat portion of the cocoa bean, is a completely vegetarian fat source and is directly responsible for the melt-in-your-mouth quality of chocolate, which is essentially cocoa butter that has been recombined with cocoa solids like cocoa powder.



What is soy lecithin?

 Lecithin is a combination of three different Phospholipids and is extracted from soybean oil during processing. Soy lecithin is a provider of dietary Choline. Choline is an essential nutrient associated with cardiovascular health, liver function, fetal development, memory and athletic performance. Choline is also an important component of cell membranes for all cells within the body. Choline helps keep cell membranes from hardening, allowing nutrients to be passed into and out of the cells, which is extremely important for overall health and proper bodily function.



Can someone with soy allergies have it?

Individuals that are allergic to soy can generally tolerate products made with soy lecithin. Soy allergies are associated with the proteins in the beans, which are eliminated during the refining and processing of soybean oil from with lecithin is derived.  It is best to check with your doctor if unsure. 



Can this mix be baked as a pan cookie? 

Yes, lightly grease or use parchment paper in a 9x13 pan.  Bake for 18-22 minutes or until set and lightly brown . Do not over bake.



How do I keep the cookies from spreading so much?

Make sure you have blended the butter and sugar well. Use parchment paper on your cookie sheet.  Also, only bake one sheet of cookies in the oven at a time.  It is also helpful to refrigerate the dough for ½ hour before baking.
